What do I need to start recording at home?
A computer, an audio interface, a microphone, a pair of headphones and the cables to connect them. A two-input interface with one microphone and closed-back headphones is enough for vocals or a single instrument. Add studio monitors once you start mixing.
Should I buy a condenser or a dynamic microphone?
A condenser captures more detail but also picks up the room, so it suits a quiet, treated space. A dynamic microphone ignores more of the room and handles loud sources, which makes it forgiving in an untreated apartment. Tell us where you will record and we will recommend one.
Do I need studio monitors, or are headphones enough?
Headphones are enough to start, and they are the practical choice when neighbours are close. Studio monitors help most when you mix, because they let you judge balance and space more accurately.
Do you stock Aston microphones?
Yes. We stock Aston microphones alongside BEHRINGER, Ahuja, TC Helicon and others. Stock changes, so message us on WhatsApp to check a particular model.
Do you have a recording studio?
No. Our studio is a rehearsal room for bands and solo musicians, bookable by the hour. We sell the equipment you need to record at home.
