Rehearsal Studios in Abu Dhabi: How to Book, What It Costs and What to Bring
Finding somewhere to play loud in Abu Dhabi is harder than finding the music. Apartments have neighbours, villas have families, and a drum kit in a spare room is rarely an option. A rehearsal studio solves that: a treated room with the gear already set up, booked by the hour. Here is how it works at our studio on Hamdan Road, and how to get the most out of every hour you pay for.
What a rehearsal studio is (and is not)
A rehearsal studio is a practice room, not a recording studio. You are paying for space, noise freedom and working equipment — drums, amplifiers, a PA and microphones — so a band can walk in and play a full set. Our room also has an acoustic piano and a keyboard, which makes it useful for pianists, singers and exam students, not just bands.
What it costs at AKM Music
Solo sessions are AED 100 per hour and band sessions AED 150 per hour, with the equipment included. You book in whole hours, from one up to five in a row, and pay at the studio — there is no deposit or online payment to hold a slot.
Band rehearsal, drum practice or a jam
Bands usually book two or three hours: one to set levels and warm up, the rest to run the set. Drummers without space for a kit at home book a solo hour on our acoustic kit and bring only their sticks. Singers and guitarists use the room to rehearse with the PA before a gig or an audition.
What to bring
The room has the backline, so bring what is personal to you: sticks, your guitar or bass, pedals, cables you trust, and earplugs — a loud room for three hours adds up. Bring the set list and any charts so nobody spends the first twenty minutes deciding what to play.
Get more out of every hour
Arrive five minutes early and plan the session: warm up with an easy song, spend the middle on the parts that are not working yet, and finish with a full run-through as if it were the gig. Record the run-through on a phone so the band can listen back during the week.
Keep a weekly slot
Bands improve fastest with a regular time. When you book our studio online you can tick "Repeat every week" and hold the same weekday and time for up to eight more weeks.
Book the studio
The live calendar on our studio page shows every free start time, including a 15-minute reset gap after each session. Pick a slot, add your name and number, and we confirm on WhatsApp. Open Saturday to Thursday 9 AM to 9 PM, and Friday 4:30 PM to 9 PM.
