Caring for a Piano in the UAE Climate: Tuning, Humidity & a Care Schedule
A piano is a long-term investment, and the UAE climate is hard on it. A simple care routine protects both the sound and the value.
Why the climate matters
A piano has thousands of wooden and felt parts. Heat, humidity swings and constant AC make wood expand and contract, which pushes the instrument out of tune and, over years, stresses the structure.
Placement
Keep the piano against an interior wall, away from windows, direct sunlight and AC vents. Aim for stable room conditions rather than chasing a perfect number.
Tuning schedule
Plan on tuning roughly twice a year here — more for schools, studios and concert use. Regular tuning also lets a technician catch small issues before they become expensive.
